RESIDENTS will be able to have their say about the opportunities and threats for the future character of their village following a large planning proposal for 175 homes.
Wycombe District Council is working with Longwick-cum-Ilmer Parish Council on a detailed study to look at how Longwick could change in the future. To find out what people think in and around the village they are holding a drop-in event next week.
It is a follow-up to the packed public meeting held last month to discuss the proposal for up to 175 dwellings off Boxer Road and Barn Road.
Residents can look at the topics being discussed as part of the Longwick Capacity Study including looking at Longwick as a whole; what works now and what needs improving in the village and the opportunities and the threats for the future character of the village.
The councils want to hear villagers' views about roads, transport, drainage and flooding, social facilities and local needs and landscape and local wildlife.
Wycombe District Council will use findings and recommendations from the Longwick Village Capacity study to help to inform thinking in considering planning applications and to feed into the Local Plan.
As well as an exhibition, councillors will join planning officers and consultants working on the study to be on hand to meet people face to face.
The event is adult and child friendly with a variety of activities designed to help young and old.
If you can’t get to the event, all the exhibition information will be online at www.wycombe.gov.uk and you can contribute your thoughts and comments online from Tuesday, October 7 until Monday, October 13.
