A SUPERMARKET company has withdrawn plans to put up advertising banners in a town which doesn't have one of its stores.
Tesco recently submitted a planning application to put up five banners and three freestanding signs around the car park at Chesham railway station.
But a month after making the submission - and with council planning chiefs considering the application - the company has decided not to proceed with the proposals.
The banners were intended to advertise Tesco's click and collect service, but the company doesn't have a store in Chesham.
Members of the town council had recommended to Chiltern District Council, the body which would have made the final decision on the proposals, that the application should be turned down.
