A ROAD closure has prompted a village shop to ask for residents to make extra effort to support them.
Coombe Lane in Hughenden Valley and about 40 metres of Valley Road is being closed between 9.30am to 4.30pm every day until October 17.
The committee from the Hughenden community village shop said the closures cover the normal trading hours and will have an effect on the shop’s footfall and income.
They said: "The shop will still be open as usual, however with virtually no passing trade and neither residents nor village hall users able to park in the car park, it will be a difficult time financially.
"We therefore ask that you support us in as many ways as you can - if you are able, please continue to use the shop as regularly as you do normally (more if you can) - but on foot if you are unable to reach us in the car; if possible in addition, purchase other items that you may normally buy at the supermarket - this would be a huge help."
