A 68-YEAR-OLD Buckinghamshire woman has died after falling 50ft from a clifftop in Dorset.
The woman was with a group of walkers from the Amersham Ramblers Group when she fell into the sea from the top of the cliff on Tuesday.
She was airlifted to hospital in Dorchester but was later declared dead.
The woman has not yet been formally identified, with an inquest into her death likely to be opened soon.
The tragedy happened on a coastal path near the village of Worth Matravers, on the Isle of Purbeck, at around 12.15pm on Tuesday 14.
It happened on a guided walk being operated by the firm HF Holidays.
Jim Forward, chief executive of HF Holidays, said: "Everyone at HF Holidays is shocked and saddened by this accident and our thoughts are with her family and friends."
He added team members from the company are providing assistance to the woman's family and to her fellow walkers.
Officers from Dorset Police have reported there are no suspicious circumstances into the woman's death.
