DIDN’T he do well? Television legend Sir Bruce Forsyth lent a helping hand to boost a golf fundraiser this month, as participants chipped-in with £5,000 for charity.
The former Play Your Cards Right and Strictly Come Dancing host opened the first ever South Bucks District Council’s chairman’s golf day in Stoke Poges, on Friday, October 10.
Golfers managed to swing more than £4,000 for Councillor Santokh Chhokar’s two charities Padstones and South Bucks Citizens Advice Bureau.
Padstones supports young people who are homeless, vulnerable and at risk, while the Bureau helps people resolve their legal and financial problems.
A further £1,000 was raised on the day through an auction for prizes which include a tour of Pinewood Studios.
The additional money will be added to the Chairman’s Community Fund, which South Bucks charities can apply to for funding throughout the year.
Cllr Chhokar said: “The golf day was a huge success and is a wonderful way to bring the community together and have fun while raising money.”
