M40 closed in both directions due to police incident
The M40 was closed in both directions between Junction 2 (Beaconsfield) and Junction 3 (Loudwater) this afternoon.
Traffic was stopped at about 12.30pm in both directions due to a police incident on the flyover by Beaconsfield.
Thames Valley Police tweeted: "The M40 is closed in both directions between Junction 2 around Beaconsfield while we deal with a fear for welfare. Please avoid the area."
The woman who police were concerned about was assessed at the scene.
The road was reopened at 1.04pm.
