RESIDENTS fear concerns over traffic chaos in Iver Heath will become a reality next year, with Pinewood Studios planning to begin work on the first phase of their new £200 million development.

Campaigners believe with changes to the surrounding road layout along with the introduction of larger lorries into the village, the roads will become congested during peak traffic times.

Sylvie Lowe, who heads up the residents’ campaign Stop Project Pinewood, said: "I am concerned on the impact this development will have here.

"They will not only be changing the road layout in some of the roads, but there will also be massive lorries coming down here.

"This will have a big impact not just on drivers from Iver Heath but also for people in surrounding villages and towns who come through here to link up to the M40 or M25.

"And for residents there will be a lot of additional noise and pollution, which is obviously not wanted."

She added: "Obviously our main concern when we objected was about the use of greenbelt land when there was more than enough brownfield areas.

"However, this is something which will be brought about because of the development and it is not good for this area."

Last week, Pinewood Shepperton plc announced they had submitted plans to South Bucks District Council for approval ahead of the first phase of their £200million development.

The initial phase will comprise five stages, ten workshops, production offices and associated infrastructure and landscaping.

Developers for Pinewood Studios are hopeful work can begin within the first few months of 2015 and plan for it to be completed by mid-2016.
