A leaked menu from the Clooneys’ Saturday night dinner revealed the couple enjoyed delights such as foie gras and smoked salmon during the five-course meal.

Guests were given a choice of main dishes including fillet of beef or sea bass, with a lemon and elderflower sorbet between courses.

The menu, headed ‘To celebrate the Marriage of Amal and George’, also gave the A-list Hollywood actor a chance to tuck into traditional English speciality sticky toffee pudding for dessert.

A delicate starter list included smoked salmon served with Irish soda bread and topped with a quail’s egg.

And for the ethical Hollywood diner, a woodland mushroom risotto was offered as an alternative to a meaty main course.

Danesfield House has a long history of fine dining, with chef Adam Simmonds taking its restaurant to Michelin-stardom and up to 12th best in the country during his tenure, which ended last year.

But the restaurant at the luxury spa learned it had lost the coveted star in Michelin's 2015 guide when the list was revealed last month.
