Children at a school in Gerrards Cross were given a taste of Spain during a charity week last month.

The mammoth week of fundraising at Thorpe House School included a special Spanish day, which involved pupils learning how to dance, make churros and even create their own virgin-Sangria.

During the day for the pre-prep students the school became a hub of Spanish activities including flag and fan making and the creation of castanets using bottles tops.

Across the week, the school raised more than £2,000 for Macmillan Cancer Support, with a whole school bake sale bringing in £600 towards the total.

There was also a coffee morning at the start of the week and a green themed mufti-day.

The children were also treated to a number of bacon butties and pupils used the money they would normally spend on lunch to add to their large donations to the cancer charity.
