THE streets of Wycombe were heaving with people tonight, as thousands gathered for the annual Christmas lights switch-on event.

This year Sid the loveable Sloth from the popular Ice Age animated films did the honours and brought the town's festive period to a spectacular start.

Aside from that main event, the crowds were kept entertained by music, dance and other live performances on the stages in Frogmoor. There was food aplenty to enjoy from special stalls selling an intriguing variety of meals, atmospheric Yuletide music from the Salvation Army band and plenty of rides to enjoy.
