A lorry crashed into a bridge in Princes Risborough this morning, causing rail and road delays.

The lorry collided with the bridge in Longwick Road.

Thames Valley Police were called to the scene at 7.07am.

The driver escaped with no injuries and there was minimal damage to the bridge.

Chiltern Railways reported that trains were running at a reduced speed in the area, with delays of at least 5 minutes between Princes Risborough and Aylesbury.

Railway services have since returned to normal.

Recovery arrived at the scene at 9.53am and they are currently in the process of moving the lorry.

The process of recovering the lorry has taken longer than expected, and Longwick Road was closed at around 2pm to make sure the work could be undertaken safely.

The road closure is currently causing problems for commuters, with congestion on A4010 Wycombe Road to B4444 Station Road and on A4010 Aylesbury Road to Peters Lane.
