A young fashion designer from High Wycombe has secured a place in London Fashion Week after winning a competition.

Isabel Howden, 13, from Radnage, won the Future of Fashion competition, which was featured in the Bucks Free Press during the summer.

Keen designers were asked to create a garment using upcycled items and show their creative process with a mood board.

The young fashionista beat 60 other creative hopefuls to win a place in prestigious fashion event, London Fashion Week in September 2015.

Isabel’s colourful creation won over the judges and she will now have her designs turned into her very own, professionally-made, fashion label.

She will also be designing a collection which will be showcased in the Future of Fashion pop up shop and at the London Fashion Week Future of Fashion runway show.

Isabel and other Future of Fashion pupils will be modelling their own designs during the show.

Future of Fashion is a creative academy which aims to nurture and develop the talents of young fashion enthusiasts in Bucks.

The academy was founded by Debbie Wingham, a fashion designer whose creations have featured in Sex and the City, Desperate House Wives and Ugly Betty, is the creative mind behind the world’s most expensive item of clothing.

Debbie reached new levels of luxury in 2013, when she created the red diamond abaya, a dress valued at £11.7 million.
