Five talented young dancers from Bucks have been selected to dance alongside a professional ballet company.

Gifted dancers, Alex Spinks, Michaela Titman, Zoe Weiss, Katie Hanrahan and Freya Ruperal, all train at venues in High Wycombe and Marlow with Kobika Dance School.

The dancers successfully beat hundreds of other applicants for the opportunity to perform alongside the English Youth Ballet as part of their production of Swan Lake at Aylesbury Waterside Theatre next year.

The exceptional young dancers are all part of the Kobika Junior and Youth Dance Companies, and perform at events in the area.

Founded in 1998, English Youth Ballet presents full-length classical ballets in regional theatres across the UK.

The company auditioned young dancers, aged between eight and 18 within a 100-mile radius, for parts in their latest production, Swan Lake.

The successful dancers will perform alongside the professional performers for three shows in Aylesbury on 24 and 25 April next year.

Dance teacher, Katie Cobie, said: “This is a fabulous opportunity for some of our very talented students. It is a chance for them to expand their knowledge and skills and work alongside professionals. They are extremely excited and we are so proud of each and every one of them.”
