Police have confirmed a teenage girl who was reported missing days before Christmas has been found despite initial confusion surrounding her whereabouts.
Danielle McKenna, 14, from Hemel Hempstead, went missing more than two weeks ago on Monday, December 22, and was believed to have links to High Wycombe and Chesham.
However, yesterday Hertfordshire Constabulary officers said the teenager was believed to be safe but needed her to confirm, and they have now announced she was located safe and well.
At the time, Sarah Spence, a spokesman for the police force said, said: “We have information that Danielle is safe and well, however we need to verify this.
“Danielle, if you are reading this can you please contact the police directly.”
When the teenager went missing Thames Valley Police helped Hertfordshire Constabulary appeal for witnesses because of her links to the south of Bucks.
