A fire badly damaged a bedsit in a three-storey property West Wycombe Road in the early hours of this morning, while two men suffered from the effects of breathing in smoke.

Firefighters tackled the blaze after being called at about 4.10am but the property was badly affected and the remainder of the building was 25 per cent damaged by smoke, Bucks Fire and Rescue said.

Two crews from High Wycombe and one from Beaconsfield raced to the scene in the morning, with firefighters using one hose reel, four sets of breathing apparatus and a positive pressure ventilation fan.
