A violent criminal who went on the run from a Buckinghamshire prison has been caught with the help of a TV appeal after a three-month manhunt.
In October, Lewis Hoare and Kenneth Simmonds absconded from Spring Hill Open Prison near Aylesbury.
Convicted killer Hoare handed himself in four days later, but fellow prisoner Simmonds – jailed for malicious wounding - has been on the loose ever since.
But he was arrested yesterday in Sutton, South London, after a member of the public recognised him from a BBC Crimewatch appeal.
He has now been sent back to prison.
