Residents looking to cut their household energy bills in Bucks have just a few days left to sign up to a scheme aiming to help the county's householders find the best rate.
The Big Community Switch is a joint scheme between Buckinghamshire County Council and Government-backed iChoosr that helps residents to join a bidding auction with energy suppliers.
Bucks residents who register will be presented as a group in the auction, organised by iChoosr.
The supplier that comes up with the cheapest tariffs gets to offer registrants a new contract. Residents can compare the offer with their current supplier, see how much they’ll save, and decide whether to switch.
Around 150 councils around the country enable their residents to take part in energy auctions, and around 90 per cent are estimated to find a saving.
Average savings run to about £200 a year and iChoosr says the more who sign up, the better the savings.
The deadline for registering on the Big Community Switch is this Monday, February 2.
