Colourful home-made cars raced against each other as teams of scouts went into battle on Saturday.
The 2nd Amersham on the Hill Wolf Pack hosted their fifth annual Pinewood Derby, as scouts raced mini cars they had created themselves down a slope.
Their traditional opponents, the 1st Flackwell Heath Pawnee cub group, attended, as did members of the Pack 81 team based at the American School in Hillingdon.
All of the competing scouts had to create their own cars by carving a block of pine wood, before letting gravity decide the winner on an eight metre track.
Former Amersham mayor Mimi Harker was the special guest at the event, which was held at the town's Jubilee Hall.
