Update: police release CCTV images of a car following hit and run in Wycombe

A pedestrian was left with “life-changing” injuries after a hit and run in High Wycombe last night.

A 30-year-old old man was taken to Stoke Mandeville Hospital with injuries to his leg, back and face, after the collision near the BP petrol station in West Wycombe Road at about 7.15pm yesterday.

The driver of the vehicle did not stop after the crash – which happened as a man was walking across a crossing – and continued to drive towards Wycombe Town centre.

West Wycombe Road was closed while Roads Policing officers investigated the circumstances and the road was re-opened at 10.25pm.

The vehicle is described as being a silver or white small car.

Sgt Dominic Mahon, from the Joint Operations Unit for Roads Policing based at Amersham, said: “I am appealing for anyone who saw what happened during the collision or anyone with any information about the incident to speak to police.

“I would also like to speak to anyone with any information about identity of the driver involved as this person may be able to assist police with their enquiries.”
