A former mayor of Beaconsfield has taken on a new responsibility of overseeing more than 150 town and parish councils across Buckinghamshire.
A member of Beaconsfield Town Council, Sandy Saunders was elected as the town’s mayor in 2013 and has now taken on the role of chairman of a large council association.
He was elected to the role with Buckinghamshire and Milton Keynes Association of Local Councils earlier this month and he will now continue to develop “the social, cultural and recreation life of parishes and villages”, he said.Former mayor of Beaconsfield, Sandy Saunders, to oversee town and parish councils in Buckinghamshire
He took on mayoral duties in Beaconsfield for one year and in recent months has championed residents’ concerns across the town, including over sewage problems in the Old Town.
