Playground equipment was set alight in a park in a suspected arson attack in Bourne End last night.

Firefighters were called to Recreation Road at 8.56pm and alerted Thames Valley Police officers to the blaze a few minutes later.

Police said a ground integral trampoline, which is part of the children’s play area, was melted.

Firefighters from Beaconsfield attended the scene and used a hose reel to extinguish the blaze.

Thames Valley Police is investigating the suspected arson.

PC Robert Duffy, from Marlow Neighbourhood Policing Team, said he would like to hear from anyone who may have seen or heard anything in the park before the fire.
