A 20-year-old man has been jailed after a failed knifepoint raid on a bank in Marlow last month.
Harry Brunsden, of High Street, Marlow, entered an early guilty plea to one count of robbery and one count of possession of a bladed article and was given a 30 months prison sentence.
On February 4, Brunsden - who was 19 at the time - entered the Marlow High Street HSBC bank, produced a knife and demanded cash from staff.
However, he fled empty-handed after workers refused to hand over money.
He was arrested the same day and charged on February 5.
Det Con Timothy Robins from High Wycombe Force CID said: “I am pleased that Brunsden has taken responsibility for these offences at an early opportunity. He has accepted responsibility for his actions and will now serve a prison sentence.”
Brunsden was sentenced at Amersham Crown Court on Friday.
The judge handed him a 30 months sentence for robbery and six months’ imprisonment for possession of a bladed article, to be served concurrently.
