Rock star royalty dropped in to Marlow yesterday as Liam Gallagher entertained staff at the Hand and Flowers while enjoying lunch.

The former Oasis frontman stopped by at the two Michelin star pub on West Street and though he has eaten all around the world, singled out Tom Kerridge’s cooking as the “food of the Gods”.

Any hopes of being able to slide away unnoticed would prove to fade away little by little, with the singer paying a visit to the kitchen to thank the chef for his meal.

Taking time to pose for a selfie alongside the Marlow chef, he said hello to staff and entertained them by doing a moonwalk in the kitchen.

And some might say Tom enjoyed the encounter, when he later tweeted: “So yesterday this chap dropped in for a spot of lunch.

“Highlight was Liam doing a moonwalk in the kitchen and saying hello to all the boys. What a top bloke and true legend!”

Britpop wildman Gallagher, who used to own a house in Cookham, seemed to enjoy his visit and didn't look back in anger at the meal, taking to Twitter to call Tom a “fantastic chap”.

It is not know what the singer ordered, though speculation mounted on Twitter that he may have opted for the Magic Pie and toasted the meal with a glass of Champagne Supernova.
