MYSTERY surrounds why the Burger King restaurant in Frogmoor has shut its doors.
The restaurant shut down suddenly two weeks ago.
A Burger King spokesman, who did not want to be named, said she could not comment on exactly why it had closed.
Holly Willis, who works at Dorothy Perkins next door to the burger bar, said she noticed it had closed about ten days ago and a sign had been put up to say there was a problem with the appliances.
She said: "I just came in and noticed it was shut as I was walking past and the notice was up."
The restaurant used to be run by two private companies, Ararat Limited and Ambience Limited.
The spokesman said: "In the course of normal business, new restaurants will open as other, less viable ones close. As a matter of policy, we do not discuss franchisee matters in detail."
