A DOG-WALKER was nearly left stranded in Mad Bess Woods after three thieves tried to steal her Mercedes.
The woman returned to her car in Northwood at 1pm on Sunday to find a man standing next to it who then started talking to her.
Feeling uneasy she got into the car but the man pushed his hand through a partially opened window and grabbed the car keys.
He ordered her out of the car at Ducks Hill Road and then climbed in, followed by two other men, who then tried to drive away.
But they fled after a passer-by started hitting the car with his walking stick.
Police are appealing for any information about the men. The first suspect is described as white, aged 25, with short brown hair. He was wearing a cream, sleeveless jumper with a pattern on the front, khaki trousers and black shorts.
A second man was white, 5ft 5ins tall and aged about 17, wearing a dark blue tracksuit, light socks and trainers. The third suspect is described as white, slim, with dark hair.
