A 24-hour gymathon saw 15 fit fundraisers run, lift, cycle and row their way to raising over £700 for Comic Relief at a Marlow gym.
17-year-old Jasmine Kirby organised the day-long workout at the Crowne Plaza Hotel’s Quad Club last week.
With help from her sister Jessica, friends and other gym members, the team trained for 24-hours straight to generate funds for the BBC charity effort.
Each participant donated £5 to undertake mini workouts of between 30 minutes and one hour at various points throughout the 24 hours.
And hotel managers provided use of the recently upgraded facilities, countdown screens, energy drinks, and a constant stream of energetic music to ensure the atmosphere remained upbeat and the fundraisers motivated on Saturday night.
Jasmine said: “We were thrilled when the team at the hotel agreed to help us host the gymathon.
“We’re both avid gym-goers and thought it would be good to train for a good cause as well as fitness.
“We stayed at the gym for the full 24-hours – although we didn’t keep exercising the whole time – and were overwhelmed by the support shown by other guests and visitors as well as the people who signed up to participate.
“We’re still receiving donations and really appreciate everyone’s help.”
The gymathon coincided with the hotel’s open day, where it showed off its newly refurbished gym to potential members.
