More than 150 people from High Wycombe’s churches followed a life-sized cross being carried through the town centre on Good Friday morning.

The damp weather did not deter those in the procession from commemorating the suffering and death of Jesus Christ.

The Salvation Army band played when the crowd stopped their march outside All Saints.

Hundreds more people gathered in the Wycombe Swan Theatre to reflect on the day.

Reverend Deacon Brin Dunsire said: “It has been a joy to be part of planning an event with two different groupings of churches working together in friendship.”

Pastor Abimbola Olowofoyeku, of the Abundant Life Family Church, added: “How tremendous it was to see our churches and communities worshipping together, fulfilling the Lord's prayer ‘that they may be one, as we are’.”
