A police officer was assaulted and had his radio stolen while he was writing a ticket for a driver suspected of speeding, in High Wycombe yesterday.
At around 11pm, a Thames Valley Police traffic officer stopped a black Vauxhall Astra in Chestnut Avenue, on suspicion of speeding.
As the officer was writing the speeding ticket, the driver, who was the only occupant of the vehicle, took the ticket out of the officer’s hand, assaulted the officer and then stole his radio before making off in the car.
The officer was uninjured.
The offender is described as black, 5ft 11ins, medium build, and was wearing a black coat with red writing on the back and grey jogging bottoms with a vertical blue stripe up the sides.

- A 26-year-old woman from Ealing has been arrested in connection with this incident, on suspicion of perverting the course of justice. She is currently in custody.
