A car crash outside a primary school caused traffic problems for residents this evening, with police closing a busy road to allow the vehicles to be recovered.

The two cars were involved in the collision outside Great Kingshill Combined School, in Cryers Hill Road, at about 5.35pm.

Two men who were involved in the crash received medical assistance from paramedics on the scene, but are not believed to be seriously injured.

According to traffic links the road still remains closed in both directions and the authorities have not been able to confirm when it will be back open.

No major queues are being reported, but at the time of the accident the road closure caused some delays.
