Enthusiastic sailing amateurs took to the Thames this weekend as part of a Bourne End club’s annual open day.
The Upper Thames Sailing Club welcomed people of all ages from the community to the event, greeting residents in their clubhouse and teaching beginners how to get to grips with the sport.
As well as letting visitors enjoy their time on the water, instructors also took less experienced members out in dinghies while other guests had a ride in motor-powered rescue boats.
Based in Bourne End the sailing club area goes as far as Marlow.
The club is a Royal Yachting Association training centre and has members ranging from nationally competitive racers to beginners of all ages.
RYA training courses for sailing and powerboat driving are run throughout the season including summer holiday courses and race camps.
