Curry lovers are being asked to name their nicest naans, most tantalising tikka and choicest chow mein as the hunt behind to find the nation’s best Asian cooking.

Nominations have opened for this year’s Asian Curry Awards, which looks for the very best Asian flavours in the country.

Last year, Ashrafur Rahman from Papad Restaurant in Chesham walked away with the prize for best Asian or oriental chef for the south east of England.

This year’s shortlisted chefs over a number of categories will go forward for a live cook-off in London in October.

And winners will be announced at a high profile, glittering awards ceremony at the London Hilton on Park Lane in Mayfair on Sunday, November 15.

Last year's awards were attended by deputy Prime Minister Nick Clegg.

The Awards are a joint initiative from the Federation of Bangladeshi Caterers and the Asian Caterers Federation.

The awards are open to all Indian, Bangladeshi and Asian restaurants in Britain, including - Chinese, Thai, Japanese and Malaysian, that have been trading for at least 12 months and have a minimum 4-star hygiene rating.

As well as a number of national categories, there will be 10 regional awards for including the south east.
