The co-founder of a Marlow firm awarded a prestigious award from the Queen this week said he is “immensely proud” of his team.

Pharmaceutical consulting company Curo is one of two south Bucks firms to win the 2015 Queen’s Award for Enterprise, after it saw a 684 per cent rise in its export sales in the last three years.

Founded by Jonathan Mowll and Chris O’Neill in 2002, the innovative company has gone from strength to strength and now employs 12 people at its Dean Street base.

And chairman Mr Mowll says the success is all down to teamwork as his workers prepare to accept the prize won for outstanding international trade.

He said: “I was immensely proud of the whole team when I was notified of the award.

“Our success, like any business, relies upon a solid, hardworking team at its core. This award underlines what truly committed and professional individuals we have at Curo.

“This is such outstanding news, and it’s magnificent that Curo gets this recognition - an award based on its success. This is an absolute reflection of our focus to be the best in the field.”

Queen’s Awards are made annually, and this year approximately 140 awards have been announced for outstanding business achievement in the fields of International Trade Innovation and Sustainable Development.

The awards made annually by The Queen are now in their 50th year and are only given for the highest levels of excellence in each category.

Business language and translation experts RWS Group based in Chalfont St Peter also won the award - for the fifth time.

RWS now has over 300 employees since starting out in 1982, and took the award this year for growth in overseas earnings after earning the accolade in 1987, 1994, 2004, and 2009.
