2. Tring Chamber Music 2015
The season opens at the end of the eighteenth century with an exquisitely crafted piano trio in which Mozart shows off his exceptional keyboard skills, at the same time giving both violin and cello increasingly independent voices. It is a gentle jump to Edwardian Britain for the string quartet Idylls of Frank Bridge, three charming string miniatures of Gallic sophistication and Debussy-like vitality. Ravel’s ‘Pavane for a dead princess’ for solo piano is an ever popular concert piece which leads us across the Channel in readiness for the torrid sensuality of César Franck’s Piano Quintet, one of the most dramatic and stormy masterpieces in the repertoire. Call 01442 822732 or email jehorder@aol.com for information and tickets. Tickets are £16, concessions £14, under 18s free.
