Commuters in south Bucks can breathe a sigh of relief after a rail strike planned for next week was called off.

Rail unions have cancelled the 24-hour walkout after receiving a new pay offer in its dealings with Network Rail.

Members of the RMT and TSSA unions had planned to strike for 24 hours from 5pm on bank holiday Monday after a dispute over pay.

It means Chiltern Railways will now run a normal service on its lines on Monday and Tuesday.
