Mimi Harker is set to be installed as the new chairman of Chiltern District Council later today.
Previously vice chairman of the council, she steps up to the post after former chairman Noel Brown did not seek re-election to the authority at the recent local elections.
It would make Cllr Harker the first Asian chairman of Chiltern District Council.
The member for Chesham Bois and Weedon Hill, a former mayor of Amersham, will be confirmed in the role at the first full meeting of the council since the elections earlier this month.
The Bucks Free Press also understands Isobel Darby will remain as leader of the council, although a small reshuffle of the cabinet is set to be made as well.
