Three men from High Wycombe are set for the ride of their lives as they bid to cycle to all 20 Premier League football grounds in just 10 days.

Friends Gareth Williams, Matt Pollard and Jamie Pike hope to raise money for Helen & Douglas House having seen firsthand the work they do.

The goddaughter of Mr Williams sadly passed away at just five and a half years old from an aggressive brain tumour in 2009.

The 38-year-old said: “Every year we hold a football match to raise money for charity but this year we thought we would do something different.

“My goddaughter was cared for by Helen & Douglas House and we have all been impacted by the three charities involved. Training is going well and Jamie, the most experienced rider, will be our leader.

“Matt and I have been training since January and we meet up at least once or twice a week to ride together. We are all football fanatics but we are quickly becoming bike fanatics as well.”

They will start their ride at Newcastle United on 4th June and cycle to all 20 Premier League grounds finishing at Holmers Green Football Club on June 13.

Lesley Gorton, head of retail, said: “We are so grateful to Gareth, Matt and Jamie for organising such an amazing fundraising challenge.

“We wish them a safe journey around England and want to say a huge thank you for raising money for us.
