John Read has been elected as the new mayor of Beaconsfield.
He was formally sworn in to the new post on Thursday, May 21 at a meeting of Beaconsfield Town Council.
The former chairman of the Beaconsfield Round Table group is believed to be one of the youngest councillors to have been chosen to hold the post of mayor.
Cllr Read, who represents the South ward, said: "I am delighted and honoured to have been elected as mayor of Beaconsfield. Over the coming year I look forward to meeting with many of Beaconsfield’s community and voluntary groups; working together with them to raise awareness of our community groups, who bring so much to our town."
His deputy will be Patrick Hogan, while Alastair Pike was elected as leader with Philip Bastiman his second in command.
