Peter Hudson has been voted as the new Conservative group leader on Chiltern District Council.
He takes over from previous leader Andrew Garnett, who did not stand for re-election to the council earlier this month.
Last night Cllr Hudson stepped down from the council's cabinet, which he has been a member of for the last two years. Earlier this month he was elected mayor of Chesham.
He was selected for the role at Chiltern through a ballot of party members.
