Firefighters were called to a barbecue gas cylinder leak in High Wycombe last night.
The 15kg butane cylinder was connected to a gas barbecue when it started leaking.
A fire crew from High Wycombe went to the property in Graham Drive at 8.42pm and isolated the leak before safely emptying the contents.
Richard Priest, head of Buckinghamshire Fire & Rescue Service's community safety team, said: “It's natural to want to make the most of the good weather by going outdoors for a barbecue with family and friends.
“You can ensure your barbecue is a safe and enjoyable event. It's mainly just a matter of common sense.”
The safety tips include making sure the tap is turned off before changing the gas cylinder and a technique for checking if a gas cylinder is leaking.
If you suspect a leak, turn off the gas cylinder and try brush soapy water around all joints, watching for bubbles.
