A giant dragon took centre stage as the fun of the fair came to Amersham on Saturday.
A procession of fairytale characters through the town kicked off the annual Amersham Carnival, as brightly-dressed people of all ages wound their way through the streets.
They finished up at King George V fields, where a specially-created beach had been built to give Amersham a taste of the seaside.
Youngsters took part in a sandcastle building competition before sitting back to enjoy a Punch and Judy show.
The event had been organised by the Amersham Round Table, Amersham Action Group and Amersham Town Council.
