A village scooter club is gearing up for a weekend of festival fever in a bid to raise money for Cancer Research.

The Princes Risborough Double Diamond Scooter Club collected more than £1,000 last year and organisers hope members of the public will once again be on hand to help steer them to more money next weekend.

The club, which has about 20 members, was formed in 2011 and has held a number of events in the community, as well as travelling the length of the country and abroad for a series of rallies.

Club member Kev Luff said: “Everybody is welcome, scooter or no scooter this is just a chance for everyone to get together and raise money for charity and enjoy our mini-festival.

“There is going to be eight bands plus a few DJs and hundreds of vintage Lambretta and Vespa scooters for people to take a look at. It’s just going to be a great couple of days for all involved.

“This is the main event for us this year and for a small group of people who just share an interest of scooters it’s great to see so many other people join in.”

Residents are invited to hit the road to Towersey on Friday, July 10, before pitching-up their tents ahead of two nights of full-throttle entertainment, singing and dancing.

The event will be held in Towersey Playing Field, Thame Road, from 12pm on Friday until Sunday morning.

Tickets cost £10 per night and £15 for the whole weekend. Children under the age of 15 go free.
