Hundreds of keen cyclists are set to take part in a charity Cycling Sportive this Sunday.

Hearing Dogs for Deaf People, based at Wycombe Grange on Wycombe Road, is holding its first ever cycling event on July 5.

The event is set to start and finish from the training centre in Saunderton.

Cyclists can tackle a 50, 80 or 100 mile distance and all money raised from the event goes to supporting the Charity’s essential work, training dogs to alert their deaf owners to important sounds like the doorbell, telephone and fire alarm.

Melanie Tyrer, National Events Manager for Hearing Dogs said: “This is the first year we have run a cycle event of this scale, and we are so excited to welcome cyclists to Saunderton for such an exciting day.

“We are incredibly lucky to be based in picturesque Buckinghamshire, and have carefully selected all three routes for their natural beauty, in The Chilterns and beyond. Each route provides cyclists with a challenging, yet rewarding ride.

“Hearing Dogs for Deaf People does not receive any government funding, so events such as the Cycle Sportive are essential in raising the vital funds needed to continue our life-changing work.

“On behalf of the Charity, I would like to wish everyone who is taking part the absolute best of luck.”

Cycling enthusiasts can still sign up on the day of the event.
