A man from Chesham who appeared at the Old Bailey on suspicion of child sex offences has been found not guilty after a nine-week trial.

Sajid Ali, 34, of Brockhurst Road, was one of 10 men from Buckinghamshire charged following a lengthy police investigation.

Mr Ali was among three other men to be found not guilty, while six others from Aylesbury were convicted and are due to be sentenced.

The guilty verdicts relate to two victims, who were aged under 16 at the time of the offences, which occurred in Aylesbury between January 2006 and December 2012.

Investigating officer, Supt Gill Wootton said: “Firstly, I would like to thank the victims in this case for their bravery in coming forward and having the immense courage to attend court.

“It is because of their courage that six men have been found guilty of serious sexual offences against children and potential victims are safe from them.

“We will continue to support the two victims in this case and any other victims of sexual exploitation who contact us.

“This has been a long and complex case involving a lot of hard work from many different people and agencies and so I want to thank everyone for their efforts.

“I also want to take this opportunity to ask anyone out there who may have been a victim of crime to come forward and talk to us. This case shows that we will listen and do everything in our power to bring the offenders to justice.

“TVP continue to work with partners to tackle CSE and to bring historic and current offenders to justice.”
