Carnival fever erupted in High Wycombe on Saturday as thousands of people gathered on The Rye for a sensational summer spectacular.

The annual Wycombe Community Festival transformed the area into a sea of colour, music and dancing as organisers celebrated 10 years of success.

Marking the special landmark, the Saint Vincent and the Grenadines 2nd Generation (SV2G) group put on a show to remember.

People of all ages enjoyed the event with Wycombe MP Steve Baker and Chiltern District Council chairman Mimi Harker also joining in with the party atmosphere.

This year's festival featured live performances from High Wycombe bands and national and international recording artists.

Also, the Wycombe Steel Orchestra, the School of Steelpans; dancers and other cultural performances showcased their talent.

As well as musical performances throughout the day there was also a carnival parade with flamboyant and extravagant costumes quickly catching the eyes of residents.
