A High Wycombe charity that aimed to help young people learn motor skills and gain qualifications has gone into liquidation.
Skidz, which is based in Leigh Street, offers motor mechanic skills training and education to disadvantaged young people not in education, employment or training.
Councillors gasped as Chairman of Wycombe District Council, Cllr Ian McEnnis, made the announcement at a meeting on Monday evening.
He said: “Skidz is an organisation that helps our young people. Over the years they were very proud that they achieved an awful lot.
“They have been a lifeline to so many students, giving them a second chance at gaining meaningful skills where perhaps mainstream schools have failed.
“It is with great sadness and regret that I have to inform you that Skidz is placed in liquidation. It is very sad news indeed.”
More information as we get it.
