She said: “Happy is an understatement, I’m just really relieved, it’s all over, but in a good way.”

Both Henna Deol and Connie Lewis highlighted the tense wait the pupils had for their results.

Miss Deol said: “I think I got about three hours of sleep last night, it’s been a long wait since June.”

Miss Lewis said: “I checked immediately when I got up.”

51% of grades at the school are at A and above.

Nicola Dwornik, furture Ancient and Modern History student at Balliol College, Oxford said: "It’s been nice to have a break from school over the summer, but I’m really excited to start university, meet new people from different places and start anew. I think we’re all really ready to move on now.”

Mr Cooksey congratulated his students, saying: “The girls, their teachers and their supportive parents deserve a great deal of credit for such wonderful outcomes.”
