Grammar school students in Amersham smashed all previous records by achieving the best A-Level grades across the county.
With 86.3 per cent of entries graded at A* to B, with nearly 61 per cent being A* or A, there were plenty of reasons for celebrations at Dr Challoner’s Grammar School.
Headmaster Dr Mark Fenton said: “We are all immensely proud of what this year group has achieved. In a climate where results nationally are no longer going up year on year, the boys have achieved a truly exceptional set of grades.
“They have been a great year group ever since they joined in Year 7 and it has been a pleasure for us to help them achieve their goals.
“There will be a lot of very proud mums and dads out there today.”
Eight students at the school also obtained a clean sweep of A* grades in four subjects.
The successful teenagers were Edward Bond, Hussein Daginawalla, Thomas Garry, Elliot Gravestock, Stephen Harris, Alexander Lacey, Kishan Patel and James Webb.
