Veterans, dignitaries and members of the public across south Buckinghamshire joined together to commemorate 70 years since VJ Day at the weekend.
VJ Day, or Victory over Japan Day, marks the end of WWII and on Saturday hundreds lined the streets to pay their respects to all those who fought during the battle.
While the war in Europe ended in May 1945, Japan did not surrender until August 14. The next day, Wednesday, August 15, 1945, was first celebrated as VJ Day.
Villages and towns across the country did their bit to honour the occasion with many joining in throughout Buckinghamshire and paying their respects.
As well as short ceremonies, wreath laying and a remembrance silence, members of the High Wycombe Royal British Legion also held an afternoon tea in the town centre while there were also big crowds in Marlow and Flackwell Heath.
