There’s a fibre-optic light at the end of the tunnel for the residents of Bourne End, as the saga of their lost broadband connection draws to a close.
It appears BT has taken action over the growing complaints from customers, with workers spotted working on the telecoms box on Cores End Road a week earlier than expected, in a long awaited effort to reconnect homes in the area to the web.
The trouble started when a car crashed in to the box nearly a month ago, completely destroying the box and cutting residents off from their broadband services.
Users vented frustration towards BT over their lack of clarity on the issue by decorating the crash site with flowers and ‘RIP’ signs to mourn the loss of their connection.
And the telecoms company are due to finish working on the box on August 26, by which point customers will have been without broadband for a month.
