Two pubs in Ley Hill are set to hold a three-day music and beer festival this weekend.

Hundreds of music fans are set to visit The Swan and The Crown pubs, which are next door to each other in Blackwell Hall Lane, as they hold their tenth annual festival from August 29 to 31.

Ten bands will be entertaining the audience while over 60 real ales and ciders will be on offer in both pubs and beer tents.

On Saturday, Cherry Valentines will be the first band to take to the stage at 2pm, followed by Huggy Flares and The Sobernauts.

On Sunday, there will be music from 2pm until 8.30pm, with the likes of Robin Bibi Band and Cool Beans performing at 6pm.

Local tribute band, Oye Santana, have now replaced Mervin Gersh on the line up and plan to recreate the passion and party atmosphere of a legendary Carlos Santana show at 4pm.

Audiences can also enjoy sets from The Measures, The Deps and Crystal Balls on Monday afternoon.

As well as music and alcohol, there will be a pig roast and barbecue on the Saturday and Sunday and face painting for children.

The Swan owner, Nigel Byatt, said: “This is a great example of two pubs working together to put on a great Bank Holiday weekend of free entertainment for the enjoyment of the local community and visitors to the area.

“Last year was a real success and this year should prove to be even bigger and better.”

The event is free, but there will be opportunities to donate to the pubs’ chosen charity, The Lions Club, throughout the day.
